NEET (UG) 2024 Paper Analysis : Physics, Chemistry and Biology

Posted On By user

The NEET 2024 exam, held on May 5, 2024, had over 23 lakh candidates. It’s an important test for students aiming to study medicine in India. Biology is a significant part of this exam, and we have a thorough analysis of it here.

Our assessment indicates that the Botany questions were simpler and of higher quality compared to previous years, while the Zoology questions were direct and closely aligned with the NCERT curriculum.

The key focus areas from the entire syllabus were Plant Physiology, Human Physiology, Genetics, and Ecology. The exam included Diagram-based, Assertion-Reason, and Application-based questions. Diagrams used in these questions were directly sourced from images in the Biology NCERT textbooks for both class 11 and class 12.

Analyzing the difficulty level of the NEET 2024 Biology question paper, we find a well-rounded mix of easy, medium, and difficult questions. Below is the difficulty level analysis of the NEET 2024 Biology question paper:

The class-wise analysis provided below helps us understand the distribution of questions in the Biology section across the syllabi of Class 11 and 12. This offers insights into which class curriculum received more emphasis in the NEET 2024 examination.

Finally, the predominant question type was Single Choice objective questions. There was a decrease in Assertion and Reasoning based questions, with more emphasis placed on Match the Column types of questions.

If we talk about Chemistry then we find the weightage from the three sections – Organic, Inorganaic and Physical Chemistry to be equal.

  • Chemical Bonding 4
  • p-block 3
  • Periodic Table & Periodicity in Properties 2
  • Hydrogen 1
  • Coordination Compounds 3
  • d-block & f-block Elements 2
  • Metallurgy 1
  • Qualitative Analysis 1
  • Hydrocarbons 2
  • General Organic Chemistry 2
  • Alkyl Halide, Alcohol & Ether 2
  • Aromatic Compounds 3
  • Biomolecules 2
  • Carbonyl Compounds 2
  • Organic Compounds containing nitrogen 2
  • IUPAC & Isomerism 2
  • Practical Organic Chemistry 1
  • Atomic Structure & Nuclear Chemistry 1
  • Chemical Equilibrium 1
  • Ionic Equilibrium 2
  • Redox Reactions 1
  • Gaseous State 1
  • Mole Concept 2
  • Thermodynamics and Thermochemistry 1
  • Chemical Kinetics 2
  • Electrochemistry 1
  • Solid State 1
  • Solution & Colligative Properties 2

In summary, a comprehensive grasp of Biology NCERT textbooks, including diagrams, and a clear understanding of key concepts and definitions would give aspirants an advantage in scoring well in the Biology section of the NEET exam.

If we talk about the Physics Paper of 2024 NEET(UG). You will realize that about 27 questions which is more than 50% of the paper were asked from just 7 chapters. Also 29 questions (60%) appeared from the class 12th syllabus compared to 21 from class 11th syllabus.

The following were the weightage of the given chapters.

  • Unit and Dimension -3
  • Wave Optics -2
  • Semiconductor -3
  • Current Electricity -5
  • Magnetism -5
  • Newtons Laws of Motion-1
  • EMI and AC-2
  • Modern- 5
  • Circular Motion -2
  • Heat and Thermodynamics-3
  • Electrostatics – 3
  • Rotation – 2
  • Work Energy Power-1
  • Geometrical Optics -2
