As you all already know that the JEE Main exam results are already out and students have performed extremely well! The counseling sessions are about to start but the final date is not released as of now. Only the candidates who clear the JEE mains are eligible to sit for the counseling and JEE Advanced.

To help and smoothen the process of counseling for the candidates, Joint Seat Allocation Authority (JoSAA) recently launched its official website. What’s this website for? This website is designed to support the counseling process for the students who have qualified for the JEE Main and JEE Advanced exams. If you’re wondering what JoSAA is then we must tell you that JoSAA is a government body that is responsible for conducting the counseling process every year. The counseling process is mainly held for exams that offer admission into IITs and NITs. If you want to know more about JoSAA then you can check their website for the same: josaa.nic.in This website will help you in clearing all your doubts regarding the counseling process.

Is JoSAA the only government body that conducts the counseling process? For IITs, JoSAA is the only Institution that takes care of the counseling procedure but in the case of NITs, we have one more government body. It is called the Central Seat Allocation Board (CSAB). But CSAB holds the counseling process for leftover students only. At first Joint Seat Allocation Authority (JoSAA) conducts 6 rounds and if any more students and seats are left then CSAB conducts 2 special rounds.

As per the reports, the date for the counseling process hasn’t been announced yet but the students who have cleared the JEE Mains exam are eligible to appear for the JEE Advanced exam. If they want to get into prestigious engineering, then they need to register themselves for the counseling process.

The process is as follows:

  1. Candidates first to visit the official website of JoSAA i.e., josaa.nic.in.
  2. Look for the “new registration” option on the homepage
  3. Please fill in all the details that are required in the application form.
  4. Complete the filling process for JoSAA 2022
  5. Once done, review it and then lock all the choices filled in the JoSAA registration form.

When filling, you will be required to pay a nominal fee. Candidates who belong to the reserved category need to pay Rs 20,000 while the candidates belonging to the General category need to pay Rs 45,000.

Also, while filling out the form, please keep all your documents handy. You’ll be required to upload your Class 12 mark sheet, Certificate to prove date of birth, JEE Main admit card 2022, JEE Main 2022 scorecard, etc.
