On 14th July 2022, a petition by NEET UG Aspirants was heard at the Delhi High Court. The students had filed the petition intending to get the exam postponed which is scheduled on July 17th as of now. The petition was filed by 15 NEET UG Aspirants to postpone the exam was dismissed by Justice Sanjeev Narula.

The aspirants took the help of Advocate Mamta Sharma to file this petition which stated that the 12th Boards got over in the month of June and after that, the students now have to prepare for 3 national level examinations without enough time given for the preparation. The petitioners want the exam to be rescheduled after four or six weeks as they have three national-level examinations to prepare for. It includes NEET, JEE, and the CUET (Central University Entrance Test)

The three examinations have a time gap of 1-2 days. However, the syllabus is entirely different which makes it a tough call to take. The petitioners have requested the court to postpone the NEET UG examination which is scheduled for 17th July.

NEET-UG is one of the toughest exams in India. As per the petitioners, if the current schedule is not changed then it will lead to a loss of 1 year for lakhs of students which will ultimately become an education burden on the nation.

Here’s an excerpt of the plea: “Approaching this Hon’ble Court seeking postponement of NEET UG 2022 by 4-6 weeks to compensate the unfortunate mismanagement faced during the covid times and to allow appropriate time to students considering the peculiar circumstances as though examination held on time in 2021, the results were also declared on time but unfortunately due to the pendency of reservation policy issue before the Supreme Court counseling period got extended for six months”.
