The Joint Entrance Examination and National Eligibility cum Entrance Test for this year are expected to be delayed by a month keeping the present situation in mind. The registration for both the national level exams need to be completed on their official websites i.e. jeemain.nta.nic.in and neet.nta.nic.in respectively. While there isn’t any particular date announced for the exams, there is speculation of a delay by a month in the schedule of both the exams. Also, the sessions further for JEE Main after the first one will be shifted accordingly. Both the exams will be conducted by the National Testing Agency.

The first phase of Joint Entrance Exam 2022 is expected to be held in March followed by the next three phases in April, May, and June 2022. The registration for the same is expected to begin in the beginning of February. Although, for NEET there hasn’t been any update or news regarding the matter apart from the one that NTA is considering to conduct NEET UG 2022 on 2nd May, 2022. Along with this, the registrations might also begin in early February. However, all of these are speculations by the experts and none of these has been confirmed, but we can expect an official update on this soon.

The delay on the upcoming national level examinations are expected to be due to the two major reasons. One being the rising cases of the new variant of Covid-19 and the disrupted condition of the country due to the pandemic. However, experts suggest that the peak has already been attained but no risk of health can be afforded. While the other is the upcoming assembly elections which are going to be held in the five states.

The elections in five states are supposed to be held from the beginning of February and will be continued till the first week of March 2022. Due to this the schedule of board exams are pushed. Since, it is highly unlikely for NTA to conduct exams colliding with the board exams, it might also result in the push of dates to JEE Main 2022 and NEET UG 2022. However, there isn’t any official update on the matter yet. Aspirants must prepare themselves well for any kind of upcoming conditions and be ready to give their best in the exam without worrying about what the date is.
