Difference between JEE Mains and JEE Advanced syllabus

Aside from the books, candidates should also be aware of some key aspects of the JEE syllabus, especially the difference between JEE Main and JEE Advanced. There is a minor distinction between the two curricula. In contrast to JEE Main, which has topics like Electronic Devices, Communication Systems, Electromagnetic Waves, these topics are absent in JEE Advanced. JEE Main majorly focuses on topics that are covered in the NCERT textbook. Meanwhile, the JEE Advanced syllabus delves deep into the subject matter. One of the major reasons for this can be the conducting body of the exam. NTA conducts JEE Main while JEE Advanced is conducted by the IITs. This makes JEE Advanced planning more difficult. However, if done in a systematic manner, this can be made simpler. Students are strictly advised to go through the syllabus to understand the key difference between the two.

Useful preparation strategy to crack JEE Advanced

The following pointers, combined with a detailed understanding of the books mentioned above, will help you handle JEE Advanced with ease:

  • Make it a point to solve MCQs on each subject after you’ve finished it, as this will give you an idea of how well you understand it.
  • Make thorough notes when studying these books to avoid having to read over concepts that aren’t as significant.
  • Develop a habit of attempting a lot of practise tests and solving sample papers and papers from the previous year. This will help you in boosting your self-esteem and preparing for the upcoming test.

Apart from this, we should not forget that success can’t be achieved by preparing only at the last moment. Just like Rome wasn’t built in a day. It will require your continuous efforts. Therefore, to crack JEE Advance, make sure that you utilise the most of each day and achieve your daily targets. These targets might be small but will make a big difference in the end.
