JEE Main 2022 will be conducted by the National Testing Agency. The registration process is likely to begin next month on its official website jeemain.nta.nic.in. Although, the exact dates for the exam are not declared yet and NTA is likely to release the exam calendar soon on its website. JEE Main is a national level engineering entrance exam for admissions in the top engineering colleges of the country and also acts as an eligibility exam for JEE Advanced which is conducted by JAB for admission into prestigious IITs of the country.

JEE Main 2022 is likely to be conducted in the same format as it was in JEE Main 2021. Amid the rising concern from the new virus variant, students are worried not just about their health but also the loss of studies that has occured. Most probably, JEE Main exam will be again conducted in 4 sessions, i.e. February, March, April, and May sessions if it does not get hampered by the covid situation. 

It is also expected that the exam might be conducted in accordance to the New Education Policy i.e. NEP 2020. The exam will be conducted in Hindi, English, and various other regional languages like Odia, Assamese, Bengali, Kannada, Malayalam, Telugu, Tamil, Punjabi, Marathi, etc. The detailed information will be available once the bulletin for JEE Main gets released by the National Testing Agency. The new exam calendar will also have dates for NEET 2022, CMAT 2022, UGC NET 2022, JNUEE 2022, ICAR’s All India Entrance Examination 2022 etc. so students are advised to keep visiting the official website to be aware of latest updates.

Students planning to appear for JEE Main exam must be aware of the minimum eligibility requirements i.e. the subjects required in the qualifying exam:

  1. For  B.E or B. Tech: Students should have cleared the qualifying exam with Mathematics, Physics, and Chemistry / Biology / Biotechnology / technical vocational subjects.
  2. B. Plan: Students should have passed the qualifying exam with mathematics.
  3. B. Arch: Students should have passed the qualifying exam with mathematics, physics, chemistry.

Marks required in the qualifying marks for securing admission in any NIT or IIIT is at least 75 percent for B. Tech programs. However, recently these criterias were relaxed considering the covid situation which has affected the studies of students. The new criteria for 2022 will be given in the information bulletin which will be soon released by the National Testing Agency.
