NEET-UG 2022 probably on July 17 2022, registration to begin from April 2

This would be the first time that NEET UG would be conducted with the change in the pattern of examination paper and with the removal of the upper age limit. More information about the NEET UG 2022 exam will be informed on 31st March 2022 through a notification on the official NTA website — neet.nta.nic.in.

National Eligibility-cum-Entrance Test (undergraduate) or NEET-UG, 2022 is likely to be conducted on July 17, 2022, and the online registration for the examination will start on April 2, 2022. The single-day pen-paper exam or offline exam for admission to medical and allied programmes in prestigious medical colleges will be conducted in 13 languages. No official notice has been put out on NTA’s official website- neet.nta.nic.in but NTA will likely release an official notification on 31st March 2022 on its website.

As per the recent reports, the registration process window might stay open till May 7 after which a five-day correction window will be given to aspirants. The National Testing Agency (NTA) has told reporters that the date for NEET UG 2022 was finalised after consulting the National Medical Commission, the Ministry of Health and the Ministry of Education.

In 2021, a record of 16,14,777 candidates had registered for the NEET-UG exam, of which 95.6% of the candidates appeared. A total of 8,70,074 (about 56.4%) candidates qualified for the test. The number of female candidates who qualified for the test was 1.19 lakh higher than the male aspirants. Three candidates were declared as joint toppers with a perfect score of 720 marks. 

This would be the first time that NEET UG would be organized after the removal of the upper age limit. Previously, the upper age for unreserved candidates was 25 years and 30 years for reserved candidates. However, recently, the National Medical Commission (NMC) scrapped the upper age limit for the NEET UG entrance exam.

NEET-UG 2022: Educational Qualification and Eligibility

-Students who have cleared 10+2 or equivalent with Physics, Chemistry, Biology/Biotechnology, and English as core subjects from a recognized educational board can apply for the NEET.

-Class 12 or equivalent appearing aspirants are also eligible to apply for NEET.

-Students must have completed 17 years as of December 31, 2022.

-The upper age limit for NEET-UG has been scrapped for all candidates. Previously, the age limit for General Category candidates was 25 years and 30 years for the reserved category candidates.

NEET 2022 Exam Pattern:

If we follow last year’s exam pattern then the NEET 2022 paper is likely to contain 180 multiple choice questions from Physics, Chemistry and Biology (Botany and Zoology). Each of the three subjects i.e. Physics, Chemistry and Maths will consist of two sections – A and B. While Section A will be obligatory and will consist of 35 questions, Section B will have 15 questions, out of which candidates will have to answer only 10.
