The exam pattern for National Eligibility cum Entrance Test has been changed which was recently released by National Testing Agency. As per the released pattern, there will be 3 subjects in exam i.e., Physics, Chemistry, Biology (Botany and Zoology). And each of these subjects will have 2 sections consisting 35 and 15 questions. However, in the later section, only 10 out of 15 questions are needed to be answered. There will be a total of 200 multiple choice questions out of which only 180 are required to be answered within the maximum time limit of 3 hours. Each of the question will be carrying 4 marks.

The question paper will consist of questions from the class 11th and 12th syllabus of Physics, Chemistry and Biology. The medium or choice of language is available in 13 languages which are English, Hindi, Assamese, Bengali, Odia, Marathi, Malayalam, Tamil, Telugu, Punjabi, Gujarati, Kannada and Urdu. Also, candidates must note that the choice of language will be depending upon the choice of exam centre of NEET 2021. The regional languages are available only in the particular region. Apart from English, question papers for other medium will be bilingual and will have English and the opted language in their question paper booklet. In case of any ambiguity in the translation in question paper, The English version will be considered as final.

As per the statement by NTA, the introduction of internal choice in section B of all the subjects is to rationalize the decision of reduction in syllabus by various schools. As per the marking, students will be awarded 4 marks for each right answer while a negative 1 will be given for a wrong answer. However, zero marks will be given for un-attempted questions. While marking the answers in OMR sheet, candidates must be very careful as once the answer is marked, it cannot be changed. Also, marking multiple answers will cost you negative marks. As per the guidelines by the authority, the answers are required to be marked by a ball point pen which will be provided in the exam hall itself. The booklet code of the test needs to be mentioned in the OMR sheet very carefully.

This year the medical entrance test, NEET 2021, will be held on 12 August in a pen and paper mode across the country at the designated centres of the candidates.
