JoSAA Counselling 2021 – Registration, Dates, Procedure, Schedule

JoSAA-2021 Registration process is mandatory for any qualified candidate interested in joining any of the IITs, NITs, IIITs (Triple-I-Ts) and Other-GFTIs (within the purview of JoSAA-2021). The process of registration requires candidates to reconfirm a few basic details, viz. gender, state code of eligibility and nationality, and provide their contact details. 

To accept allotted seats (and continue to be a part of JoSAA-2021 till the final round of seat allocation), candidates must upload ALL required documents and MUST pay seat acceptance fee as per the details provided at http://josaa.nic.in. The number of days and time available for document upload, query response and verification for seat acceptance in various rounds will be strictly adhered to. Candidates are advised to keep visiting http://josaa.nic.in for regular updates on schedule of events in case of unexpected situations. 

 Candidates whose seat has been confirmed by JoSAA can withdraw from the seat allocation process starting from the 2nd round and up to the 5th round of seat allocation before the last round of seat allocation (i.e., no Withdrawal will be allowed after 6thNovember 2021).

 Candidates who have not been allocated any seat by JoSAA can Exit from the seat allocation process starting from the 2nd round and up to the 5th round of seat allocation before the last round of seat allocation (i.e., no Exit will be allowed after 6th November2021).

 (Only for IITs) Candidates who are allotted a seat for the first time in the 6th (FINAL) round of seat allocation may do the document verification and deposit of fees at the time of registration at the admitting IIT.

(Only for NIT+ System) Normally physical reporting at admitting institutes is mandatory for students who have accepted a seat in NITs, IIITs (Triple-I-Ts) and Other-GFTIs immediately after the 6th round of seat allocation. In case, the situation does not permit the physical presence of candidate at admitting Institute the above process will be done 

online (for further details visit CSAB website http://www.csab.nic.in). 

 Details regarding beginning of academic sessions at IITs, NITs, IIITs (Triple-I-Ts) and Other-GFTIs will be available along with other Institutional information (e.g., fee structure etc.) at http://josaa.nic.in.

 Delays or disruptions in service due to breakdown of JoSAA computer servers [due to reasons beyond the control of JoSAA-2021] shall be rectified as early as possible and notified on the web (jeeadv.ac.in OR http://josaa.nic.in). The decisions of JoSAA-2021 in 

this regard shall be final and binding.

List of Documents to be uploaded by Candidates for

Registration/Online Reporting (for Admission to NITs+ System)

1. Class X Mark Sheet/Certificate, Aadhar Card (for Date of Birth)

2. Class XII MarkSheet and Certificate (Qualifying Examination)

3. Certificate of category (SC/ST/OBC-NCL/GEN-EWS), if applicable, as per Government of 

India format, available on the JoSAA-2021 website, issued by the competent authority. 

In case of OBC-NCL/GEN-EWS category, the certificate must be issued on or after April 01, 2021.

Please note that

(i) Caste certificate (SC/ST/OBC-NCL) issued by Maharashtra State must be validated by Social 

Welfare department (in case of SC and OBC-NCL category) and Tribal Welfare department(in case of 

ST category) of Maharashtra Government. The SC/ST/OBC-NCL candidates of Maharashtra State 

have to produce their caste validity certificate in the format available on JoSAA-2021 website.

(ii) ST certificates from Tamil Nadu state must be issued by the concerned Revenue Divisional 

Officer.

4. Original Certificate for Persons with Disabilities (PwD), if applicable, issued by the

competent authority. Refer JoSAA-2021 website for format.

5. Crossed Bank Cheque copy / Image of Passbook with bank account details

6. Medical Certificate (in specified Format available on JoSAA-2021 format)

7. OCI/PIO card, if applicable

8. Passport (if applicable)

9. Admit card of JEE (Main) 

In addition to the above documents, the verifying officials will also check the special 

eligibility conditions if any, for all the choices including and above the seat allotted to the 

candidate.

Note: If the original certificates are not in English/Hindi, English/Hindi version/translation 

of such certificates, duly certified by the Principal/Director or other competent authority 

of the graduating Institute, will be required during the verification of documents.
