The National Testing Agency has completed the first two of the four days of JEE MAIN Session 3 examination which was postponed earlier. The exam dates for Session 3 of JEE Main are 20, 22, 25, and 27 July. Exams for Day 1 and Day 2 are done and we are here with the analysis of question paper for you all. With this analysis, our aim is to provide you an idea of the difficulty level of the exam, topic-wise weightage, subjects, and several other important factors.
Analysis for July 20, Day 1 of Session 3
The paper was almost balanced covering all the topics from each subject. Time was not an issue for the students. Hence, the paper was not lengthy. The subject-wise comparison of difficulty level ranking would be Maths being most difficult to chemistry being the least. Whereas physics being moderate. Subject wise analysis for the exam is mentioned below.
Mathematics: If look at the difficulty level of individuals, Mathematics was moderate and the questions were majorly asked from Vector and 3-D. Questions from quadratic geometry were less. More weightage was given to the chapters from Progressions, Binomial, Calculus, and Matrices and Determinants.
Physics: Physics questions were moderate to easy and were mostly based on the calculations, some of them being lengthy. The chapters carrying most of the questions were Kinematics, Current Electricity, Gravitation, Optics, Magnetism, EM waves, Heat, Electrostatics, and Thermodynamics. The theory-based questions were asked from NCERT of class XII.
Chemistry: Questions from chemistry were in the range of easy to moderate. With Physical Chemistry being easier, lesser number of questions were asked from this topic. Questions from Inorganic Chemistry were mostly from NCERT with difficulty level being moderate. Maximum number of questions were asked from Organic Chemistry
Overall, the exam for both shifts was quite balanced being calculative and was manageable within the time.
Analysis for July 22, Day 2 of Session 3
Overall, the paper was considered lengthy with difficulty level being moderate. If we compare the difficulty level subject wise, it would be Mathematic at first followed by Physics which is followed by Chemistry.
Mathematics: The difficulty level was from moderate to tough and the solutions were lengthy. The exam was tough in comparison to the March session. Questions were mostly asked from coordinate, integral calculus. With integer questions being calculative, it became time taking.
Physics: The paper was moderate covering all the major topics with electrostatics being of higher weightage. Calculation based questions carried a good amount of weightage in shift 2. Integer based questions were mostly asked from Modern Physics.
Chemistry: The section was easiest in comparison to the others. Most of the questions were NCERT based. There was a balance among the questions from Organic and Inorganic Chemistry. Physical chemistry questions were mostly integer type.
