This is the most common doubt among students that whether CSE is good and equal in every IIT or not. This question might come in student’s mind due to two reasons, first one is because some students got relatively lower rank in JEE Advanced and they are confused whether to choose old IITs core branch or to choose new IITs CSE and second are those who are aspirants and are not getting that good marks in their mock tests that they can get into old IITs CSE.

Now a days there is so much competition for CSE due to high market demand in corporate world but it doesn’t mean that if they are choosing core branches then they will not be successful or less successful then those who are choosing new IITs CSE.

But now the question arises is that whether we should go with new IITs CSE and the most important thing is will we get the opportunity to grab the package in crores or not?

The packages which goes in crores depends upon the networks of an institute as new IITs are established in 2008 or more so the networks of institute are not that strong through which they can grab a package of crores while on the other hand students who are in old IITs have good alumni and networks which consequently gives an opportunity to the students to grab that high packages. But if your skills are good then you may get those packages too, it completely depends on you but till now the average package of New IITs CSE is 12-14LPA and their highest packages goes like 40-42LPA.

So, if you are planning to join new IITs and don’t want to lose the tag of IIT as well as CSE then you may join it but you have to put more efforts than old IIT CSE students. So, if you are ready to work harder and still has motivation for your career then I must suggest you to join it, otherwise you can go with old IITs core branches as well there you get relatively chill scenario and you can grab that package of 12-14 LPA easily.
