The general thoughts that roam around in mind when we think of JEE Main are what will be the subjects, what will be the syllabus, what will be exam pattern and so on. So, here we are going to discuss about the pattern of JEE Main. First, we will start with that what was the pattern of JEE Main that we were following till now. And then we will look for any changes in the same pattern. Firstly, there are no changes done with mode of examination. It is same as it is used to be earlier in online mode. There is only one paper of JEE main that is conducted in offline mode and that is paper of drawing for B.Arch. Except this one, other papers are conducted in online mode.

Here we are going to discuss pattern for paper 1 (B. TECH). Till now, pattern of JEE main was total 90 questions, 30 from each subject out of which all questions were required to attempt and each question used to carry +4 and -1. But now this pattern has been changed for JEE main 2022. For this year’s JEE main you need to attempt only 25 questions out of 30 questions per subject. There will be 20 questions of MCQ type (Multiple correct questions). This section will be same as that used to happen earlier. And these 20 questions are required to attempt. Apart from this there will be 10 numerical type questions out of which you need to attempt only 5 questions. So, these are the main changes done with JEE main pattern. Even this notification has been updated on official site of NTA as well so you may go and check as well.

If you are also an aspirant of JEE main 2022 then it is important to have an idea about pattern of the exam. And when you appear for the exam, just check its marking pattern. Earlier only MCQ type questions were there for each subject and hence each questions used to carry +4 and -1 but now pattern is changed so marking pattern will also vary little bit.

Hope this helps.
