CBSE Class 10th and 12th Board Exam date sheet out

The Central Board of Secondary Education (CBSE) has announced CBSE Class 10 and class 12 Term-2 exam starting from April 26, 2022. CBSE had previously announced the dates of term 2 practical exam which are held from March 2, 2022. The date sheet of class 10th and class 12th board exam was released on March 11 ,2022.

Last year, the CBSE had declared that board examinations will be conducted in two terms due to the ongoing pandemic situation. While Term-I exams have already commenced, the Term-II exams for both classes will be conducted from 26 April, 2022. The theory examination will be in offline mode from April 26 to May 24, 2022.

This year exam timings will be 10:30 am and won’t be held in two shifts like previous year’s exam. More details are available on the official website, detailed by CBSE.

According to the Board, the exam schedule has been prepared keeping the COVID-19 pandemic in mind stated by CBSE.

“As the schools were closed due to the pandemic which has led to learning loss, therefore, more gaps have been given between the examinations in almost all the subjects in both classes”, said the CBSE in the issued notification.

The CBSE notification further added, “Other competitive exam including JEE Main have been taken care of while preparing the date sheet.”

Supreme Court on 23^rd February, 2022 rejected a plea seeking cancellation of offline examinations for class 10 and 12 to be organised by state boards, CBSE, ICSE, National Institute of Open Schooling (NIOS) saying such petitions give false hope to students and only creates confusion.

“These date sheets have been prepared by avoiding nearly 35,000 subject combinations to ensure that no two subject examinations of a student fall on the same date,” it said. 
The Board also said that the exams will commence at 10.30 am.

On top of this, due to the ongoing pandemic situation Central Board of Secondary Education (CBSE) has introduced a new CBSE Assessment Plan. CBSE Academic Session 2021-22 has been distributed into two Terms i.e., Term 1 & Term 2. Evaluation of Term 1 will be based on 50 per cent of the CBSE Syllabus and assessment of Term 2 will be based on the rest 50 per cent of the syllabus. 

The term 1 and term 2 board papers of class X and XII will be conducted in a pen paper mode or offline mode.

The term 1 paper of class X and XII is based upon multiple choice questions (MCQs) which include case-based MCQs and MCQs on assertion-reasoning types. Duration of the examination will be of 90 minutes with answers to be marked on the OMR sheet provided. 

Whereas the term 2 paper of class X and XII will carry case-based/ situation based, open ended- short answer/ long answer type questions to be precise subjective type. Time given for this examination will be 2 hours.
