For the next CBSE Board Exams in 2024 for class 10 and 12, the Central Board of Secondary Education (CBSE) plans to make significant modifications to the exam format and grading system. These modifications are intended to encourage a more all-encompassing and thorough evaluation of students’ knowledge and abilities. In this blog, we’ll explore the significant adjustments that students, parents, and teachers can look forward to in the CBSE Board Exams 2024.

The inclusion of a greater number of objective-type questions, such as multiple-choice questions (MCQs) and one-word answer questions, is one of the most noticeable modifications. This change aims to assess students’ conceptual comprehension and knowledge application skills.

In order to gauge students’ capacity for analytical thought and problem-solving, case-based questions will be introduced. With these inquiries, students will be encouraged to critically evaluate a situation and offer well-thought-out responses. Instead of rote memorising, the new exam format will place an emphasis on application-oriented learning.

The marking system will be revised by CBSE to recognise pupils who can succinctly and clearly explain concepts. Students are encouraged to offer thoughtful and in-depth responses because marks will be given depending on the quality of their responses.

The 2024 CBSE board exams will begin on February 15. On the board’s official website, cbse.gov.in, sample papers for classes 10 and 12 have been made available. Students will learn more about the new exam format and scoring system thanks to this. In the CBSE board exam of 2024, there will be more competency-based questions. With this, students may concentrate on comprehending the content rather than memorization.

For class 10, 50% of the questions will be competency-based, case-based, or other types of questions, 20% will be response-type questions, 20% MCQ questions, and 30% will be constructed response questions (short answer/long answer types of questions).

For class 12, there may be up to 40% competency- or case-based questions, 20% response-type questions, 20% multiple-choice questions, and 40% constructed response questions (short answer/long answer questions).

Students must take the school pre-board exam prior to the main exam, according to the new CBSE board sample paper. The board exam that will take place in 2024 will include more ability-based questions. Ability-based questions will make up a total of 50% of class 10 questions and 40% of class 12 questions. The board exam will include objective, short-answer, and long-answer question types as well. In three hours, students must submit responses to 15–35 questions.

These modifications are meant to ease exam anxiety, foster critical thinking, and better equip students to face obstacles in the real world. To succeed in the CBSE Board Exams in 2024, it is crucial for students, parents, and teachers to keep informed about these changes and modify their study methods accordingly
